CHEERS FOR THE BIG CAT...!!!

The national animal which was on the path of being extinct has resurfaced once again from the ashes.
The latest tiger count conducted by ENVIRONMENT AND FOREST MINISTRY saw a breakthrough in their population .The journey from 1411 -1706 was not easy. The govt under the sound leadership of Mr. Jairam Ramesh took strong measures to  save the big cat. The most significant rise in the population of tiger was found in South India, (Nagarhole-Wayanad-Mudumulai) where the numbers have increased by 36%.
Though almost all hubs of tigers saw a rise in their numbers but the figures from Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh were as disappointing as ever.
Last time,in the 2006 census  the counting had excluded 70 tigers in the SUNDERBANS region .The method of counting is considered more accurate this time than during the previous census. As the declining population of tigers had become a serious matter, this time Government has used methods like video tapping and satellite data to track tigers for their safety and counting.
This census report by the ENVIRONMENT MINISTRY is surely going to encourage more people to help in this direction. Tiger conservationists welcomed the news and said that the population increase was due to the authorities surveying more areas to conduct the census and creating more tiger reserves.
This is a step in the right direction but we still have a long way to go.at the time of independence there were a good number of 40000 tigers in India.we would all like the 'history to repeat' itself.

GENERAL SECRETARY's post requires a lot of writing stuff, so if you are into making reports and are organized, then you are the best person for it. Plus she has to look after the problems faced by each team and keep a tab on the work that is going on. She will also take care of the members. Since this time the Membership Incharge post will not be there as Secretary will perform the required work.

Team heads and sub-heads manage teams so they need to have leadership skills and ideas which can take the team forward. They need to be good planners. They should have good communication skills and path breaking ideas.

Creative team head and sub-head are required to be good at fine arts+they should know how to operate Adobe Photoshop as the posters are made in that only.

People interested in Website team should know the HTML and CSS language which is required for maintaining our website. If database connectivity is known, then you will be preferred.

Interviews will be held for the members of the Public Relations, Social/technical and Event management team as these are the teams that have worked with reputed ngo's like WWF and IYCN and will be working in future as well. The members selected will work for the ongoing projects of IYCN plus they will get to work in orphanages as well.

Preference will be given to those who have worked for Greensphere in the past. The interested students should know about the latest environmental issues.
